Top Al-Qaida Leader Taunts Trump After Escaping Capture in Botched Yemen Raid

Botched US Raid In Yemen Re-Energizes Al-Qaeda

A senior United States military official told CNN Monday that intelligence collection wasn't the only objective of the recent military raid in Yemen but the leader of al Qaeda in the Arabian Peninsula had also been targeted. It's not clear whether al-Rimi was at the site of the raid and escaped, or whether he was somewhere else altogether.

However, when the raid was commenced, it was discovered, that the leader, who is known as Qassim Al-Rimi, was not at the suspected drop sight.

Spicer said during the press briefing Wednesday that the White House had been in touch with Yemeni officials.

Yemen's government on Wednesday denied USA media reports that it had ceased allowing US forces access to its territory for counter-terrorism operations after the raid.

Navy SEAL William "Ryan" Owens was killed in the assault, and three other USA service members were wounded. The U.S. military said civilians, including children, may have been among the casualties, but Yemen denies the U.S. has been banned from further operations as a result.

Filing shows Trump's education secretary pick contributed to Toomey's re-election campaign
The statement says the board has serious concerns about the appointment of Betsy DeVos to Secretary of Education. On Friday, the Senate voted 52-48 to send the MI billionaire's nomination to the full Senate floor.

"The fool of the White House got slapped at the beginning of his road in your lands", al-Rimi allegedly says in the recording.

"It wasn't a high-value target mission", Col. John Thomas told CNN, referring to operations aimed at killing or capturing terrorist leaders.

"It's absolutely a success and I think anyone who would suggest it's not a success does disservice to the life of Chief Ryan Owens", Spicer said.

The resulting outrage in Yemen prompted a suspension of the USA counter-terrorism program. Another three US forces were wounded in the "hard landing" of an MV-22 Osprey aircraft at a staging area for the mission.

Spicer is full of shit and everyone knows it, which is precisely why Yemen pulled the plug on special operations without their permission. The senior military official said that the raid still gained valuable intelligence that could help lead the USA to the AQAP leader. "It wasn't successful in that regard", he said. An 8-year-old girl - the daughter of Anwar al-Awlaki, who was killed by a 2011 USA airstrike - was also reportedly caught in the crossfire. Swathes of the Yemen's south are held by AQAP, al Qaeda's affiliate there. "'We will kill the families of terrorists'". A half-dozen Yemeni soldiers and a dozen commandos from the United Arabs Emirates who had developed the intelligence leading to the target were also involved, and a Marine Corps Quick Reaction Force was waiting off shore, multiple officials say. The Pentagon acknowledged that several civilians died in the attack on a vilage in central Yemen, though it is unsure how many.
